Why Berrio

AI Can Use Computers. Now Make It Economical.

Computer use is a breakthrough. But repeatedly asking AI to watch, reason and act creates a new runtime cost problem. Berrio takes a different approach.

AI can use computers. That changes everything.

For decades, software automation has required people to define how work should be done: map the process, identify the interface, configure the actions, test the result, then maintain it as applications change.

Computer use AI changes that equation.

Modern AI can look at software, understand what is happening, reason about what to do next and operate the interface much as a person would. Instead of programming every step, we can increasingly describe the outcome we want.

That is a profound change.

But it creates another question:

Should the AI have to do all that thinking again every time the work runs?

The cost of watching and thinking

A computer-use agent typically works in a loop.

It observes the screen. It sends information to a model. The model reasons about what it sees and decides what to do. An action is performed. The screen changes. Then the process begins again.

For work that genuinely requires judgement, that flexibility is enormously valuable.

For repetitive enterprise work, however, the same model can end up repeatedly observing and reasoning about a problem it has already solved.

That has consequences.

Screenshots take time. Inference consumes tokens. Reasoning adds latency. And every new decision introduces another opportunity for variation.

At small scale, these costs may barely matter. At enterprise scale, repeated thousands or millions of times, they become part of the economics and reliability of automation itself.

AI should build the automation

Berrio takes a different approach.

AI is used where its intelligence creates the most value: understanding the objective, exploring the software and determining how the work can be performed.

But once that work has been understood, Berrio can turn what was learned into an automation that conventional computer processing can execute repeatedly.

AI is the builder, not the runtime.

The result is a fundamentally different relationship between AI and automation.

The expensive intelligence is concentrated in creation and change. Routine execution does not need to repeatedly ask a model what to do next.

Fast. Deterministic. Resilient.

This distinction matters for more than token cost.

When an execution path is known, Berrio can run it directly rather than repeatedly rediscovering it through the screen.

That creates the opportunity for automation that is:

Fast — execution is not paced by repeated screenshot and inference cycles.

Deterministic — known work can follow a known execution path rather than being reasoned through again.

Resilient — automation can depend less on the visual presentation of software.

Economical — once built, deterministic execution requires no runtime AI tokens.

None of this means AI or computer use disappears.

Quite the opposite.

Use intelligence where intelligence is needed

Some work is unpredictable. Some applications expose little useful structure. Some situations genuinely require visual understanding and reasoning.

Computer-use AI is extremely valuable in those situations.

Berrio is therefore not an argument against computer use. It is an argument for using intelligence deliberately.

When AI is required, use AI.

When the work has already been understood, execute what has been learned.

That combination could prove far more important to enterprise automation than either approach alone.

From computer use to enterprise execution

The first generation of computer-use AI has demonstrated something remarkable: software designed for humans can increasingly be operated by machines without first being redesigned for machines.

The next challenge is turning that capability into infrastructure businesses can depend on at scale.

That means considering not only whether AI can perform the work, but how quickly, consistently and economically that work can be executed every time thereafter.

That is the problem Berrio is working on.

AI builds it. Your computer runs it.
